Jewelry Makeover – London Edition

If you ask me what the “must-have” in life is, I’d say “travel”.  Recently, a customer and a friend came back from London.  As her souvenirs, she brought back 4 vintage pieces from the Portobello Market – a rhinestone bracelet and 4 lovely little brooches.  She asked if I can custom design something for her with these lovely finds.

The first one was a no brainer because two of the pieces are just meant to be found together.  We simply paired up the bracelet with the gold rhinestone bow brooch as the size and the design match quite well together.  It was as simple as 1+1.

For the other two brooches, after going over a few ideas with her together.  We decided to make them into two separate necklaces.

Necklace #1:  Baroque Luxe

Necklace #2:  Victorian Chic

Hope you like we did for her.  If you would like to get a makeover for any of your special pieces, we’d love to hear from you.  Contact us at:

For a Good Cause…

I attended a fundraiser hosted by CIBC Imperial Service Vancouver for the BC Children’s Hospital last night at the Loden Hotel in Vancouver.  To support the cause, we also created this special necklace based on our Desert Bloom collection for the silent auction.   It was great to see several ladies generously bid on the necklace, and one lucky one took home the prize.  🙂

As for me, I wore our Desert Stars necklace from our regular Desert Bloom collection to the event.

Styling Tip: Punch Up a White Shirt with a Statement Necklace

Styling is what makes fashion fun, what creates personal style, and what makes something old new again.  I want to share a clever and easy styling tip from WhoWhatWear.

Tip # 6: Punch up a white blouse with a statement necklace.

Seeing as we are always on the hunt for fresh and of-the-moment ways to bring life to our basic wardrobe staples, it should come as no surprise we’re completely enamored with Elizabeth Olsen’s latest outfit. The actress (and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s younger sis) caught our eye at a Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon in Beverly Hills earlier this month when she accessorized her white button-down blouse with statement necklaces! It’s important to note that she kept the multi-colored, textured baubles in the spotlight by opting for minimalist separates—a clever styling trick indeed!

Grandmother’s Pearls No More.

Pearls are very classic, but sometimes they can look old fashioned.  Instead of looking like you are wearing your grandmother’s pearls, we have recently transformed a vintage faux pearl choker into this modern chic piece – Tatiana Necklace.

Perfect to wear with a white summer dress.

Art Deco Romance

Over the last little while, I have collected some great art deco brooches and fur clips.  The art deco era is quite unique – it’s all about symmetry.

Here are some of our new pieces using my art deco finds.  They are a great way to add a little romance to your summer dress, flowy top, …..or complete the dress for the modern bride.  You can never have too much romance on the special day.  xo
