Jewelry Makeover – London Edition

If you ask me what the “must-have” in life is, I’d say “travel”.  Recently, a customer and a friend came back from London.  As her souvenirs, she brought back 4 vintage pieces from the Portobello Market – a rhinestone bracelet and 4 lovely little brooches.  She asked if I can custom design something for her with these lovely finds.

The first one was a no brainer because two of the pieces are just meant to be found together.  We simply paired up the bracelet with the gold rhinestone bow brooch as the size and the design match quite well together.  It was as simple as 1+1.

For the other two brooches, after going over a few ideas with her together.  We decided to make them into two separate necklaces.

Necklace #1:  Baroque Luxe

Necklace #2:  Victorian Chic

Hope you like we did for her.  If you would like to get a makeover for any of your special pieces, we’d love to hear from you.  Contact us at: customer@rocaille-design.com

Happy Friday!

Style Inspiration: Lady Cameo

Love this picture of Giovanna Battaglia and her sweet cameo earrings.  She looks so classic and elegant, as always.

We have an unique cameo bracelet (Eva VI) that is Giovanna approve.  This cameo is specially lovely – it is not only beautifully carved, but also the lovely lady cameo wears a pearl necklace around her neck.  Amazing!

A Knight in Shining Armour

One of the best parts of my job at ROCAILLE is the discovery process – learning and understanding the history and meaning behind the vintage pieces we collect.  When designing a piece, we try to enhance the beauty of each find and tell a story.

This Zenobia necklace features an impressive vintage coat of arms crest, representing heritage, honor and strength.  It is truly a statement – a knight in shining armour!

The use of coat of arms became popular in Europe during the Middle Ages.  It was once used to identify the knights on the battlefield despite the armor that covered their identity.  Eventually it became a symbol of inherited social status.

For a Good Cause…

I attended a fundraiser hosted by CIBC Imperial Service Vancouver for the BC Children’s Hospital last night at the Loden Hotel in Vancouver.  To support the cause, we also created this special necklace based on our Desert Bloom collection for the silent auction.   It was great to see several ladies generously bid on the necklace, and one lucky one took home the prize.  🙂

As for me, I wore our Desert Stars necklace from our regular Desert Bloom collection to the event.

Fan Mail for Sofia

Since we came out with the Sofia bracelets in the spring, it has become quite popular.   We couldn’t keep any long enough in the studio.

This colorful boho-chic bracelet mixing together vintage charms, beads, and skulls (optional) can be worn as a bracelet or a necklace.  Each bracelet is one of a kind and comes with unique vintage finds including everything from vintage pins, rhinestones to antique brass numbers.  The metallic cords come in three bright colors – red, green and baby blue.

And Sofia has been receiving photos and compliments from our customers.  I want to share a few photos of some lovely wrists that we received.

For all of you ROCAILLE friends out there, please continue to share the love on our Facebook page or drop us an email.

From Emily Ramshaw (Fashion Editor at Flare Magazine) – “….the perfect summer bracelet!”

From Risa – “Absolutely love my new bracelet from ROCAILLE … It will be traveling Europe and experiencing lots of summer adventure with me ♥”

Gypsy Warrior!

More beautiful photos of our jewelry by photographer Matthew Burditt.

The headpiece on the model is actually a necklace, which is part of a new mini collection within our The Duchess Collection.  It’s scheduled to be released in the coming months.

As most of our designs are one of a kind, each piece is gone forever once is sold.  To get first dibs on a new piece/collection release, please join our facebook page!

All in the Details….

Just for fun, I snapped a few pictures of what I’m wearing today… comfortable clothes with a little twist.

Easy to dress up by putting on a blazer to go to meetings, and still keep it comfy when working on designs in the studio.

Amanda
